Fall/Winter Trends for 2020

Here we are at the beginning of a new Fall/Winter fashion season and with the pandemic still in full swing, it seems a bit hard to think about new fashion trends (especially the extravagant ones). But this season if you are ready to give up your leggings and sweat pants, you will see there are some very exciting, comfy, and wearable options. From oversized coats to baggy pants to fun cardigans, there are a lot of great trends to look forward to this season.

The top trends for Fall and Winter:

Skirt Suits:

Every type of skirt suit from cropped jackets paired with long skirts to oversized jackets paired with mini-skirts to matching sets.

Capes:

Capes this season will be an alternative and refreshing option to wearing a coat. Not only are capes fun to wear, but they are also regal and sophisticated.

Everyday Lingerie:

Think bras and bralettes worn under your jackets, sheer tops, and cardigans. Of course, this everyday lingerie is meant to be seen.

Fringe:

Fringe always seems to be a trend, however this season there’s more of a dedication to it. From subtle fringe-trim hemlines and sleeves to long exaggerated fringe on handbags.

Preppy Style:

Think back to your schoolgirl days–everything from tartan to checks to argyle cardigans. Yes, this includes penny loafers.

Textured Coats:

This season’s standout trend and must have is a shearling coat. The shearling coat has been a strong trend for a couple of seasons now, but this season’s version has been updated with a shaggy texture.

Opera Gloves:

Rather than buy another pair of basic gloves, try an elegant pair of opera gloves that you will keep forever (let’s face it- you only need ONE pair of opera gloves so make them an investment piece).

Voluminous Sleeves:

If you’re looking to add some drama to your outfit, this is your season. Voluminous sleeves are everywhere – puff sleeves, bouffant sleeves, bishop sleeves, trumpet sleeves.

Boots with Lug Soles:

Chunky soles are still going strong this season. Whether it’s a combat, hiker, or chelsea boot style, — the lug sole will instantly update your outfit and they’re super comfortable.

Statement Cardigans:

Nothing says Autumn like cardigans and this season’s classic cardigan has elevated details like knit patterns, interesting sleeves, fringe trim, and unique buttons.
