OOTD: Monochromatic Chic

Yes, monochromatic dressing can be an easy and fun look to pull off. Picking a color is the first step to pulling off a monochromatic look. Start by selecting a color that flatters your skin tone and hair color. The second step is to mix textures to break up the look a bit so you avoid looking like a crayola crayon. Mixing textures gives your look more depth and dimension. Finish your monochromatic outfit by adding pops of color with your accessories, shoes and handbag. Adding colorful accessories will add an element of interest and allow you to express your style personality. It also prevents this look from looking flat.

In the photo below, my monochromatic look starts with the color white. I chose white because it really flatters my skin tone these days because of my summer tan! My off the shoulder top has colorful floral accents that provide texture to this outfit and the details help to break up the head-to-toe white. I’ve opted for a colorful handbag that plays off the colors in my top. Then I completed the look with a pink bracelet and colorful pink sandals.
